I'm partial to Chessex.
MegaMat - Reversible - 34 1/2 X 48 Oyster Vinyl 1.5" Squares & 1.5" Hexes https://a.co/d/e40XB6K I also use clear acrylic plastic overlays (w/ laser cut hex grid) so that I can reuse all the D&D maps that I have.

Ah, failed to specify that I'm just looking at the SJG ones. I've got some MIB points that need spending.

The Wizard battle mat is more versatile.

For our TFT game, the Limestone Cavern maps found a lot of use. The Melee map is handy if you plan on running Death Tests. The Octopus map was used a couple of times. It can be mated to the cavern maps or the Spiral map but the fit isn't perfect. The game went on pause before the Rose maps were delivered.
We never tried it but the Ogre maps are the same hex size if you can ignore the road features. Pretend they are wildlife trails or similar. |

I made mine.
I printed out 1 inch sized hex paper and carefully taped them to a 20x30 inch foam board with a nice paper coating so that it was completely covered on one side. One the other side, I printed out the wizard map and taped it to the foam board. I then covered the entire board on both sides with clear vinyl contact paper. I can draw on it with colored grease pencils and them wipe it clean. All of the stuff can be purchased at a hobby store like Michaels. I think that I spent about $20-25 and, except for the foam board at ~$5, I have everything that I need to make another. I've been thinking about getting the bigger dry erase boards on on Amazon. I looked at the SJG mats. The wizard mat mentioned by Shostak caught my eye but wasn't bid enough for my needs. For now, My home brew board and grease pencils are doing fine even though my art work stinks. |

I have them all. If I were going to get just one, it would be the pack with relatively large tiles (maybe 6 MH each) that have stone, earth or white backing.

I use both, but if I had to choose just one, I would go with the wizard map. You can always block off the area not needed.
