What happened in the show was very specific to memories of one particular time and place the characters experienced. Is that what you want?

I'd call this a quirk ("Distracted by bad memories any time he/she sees something that reminds them of the time when...").

Very bad episodes like this might be Mild Flashbacks, but these kick in any time the character experiences stress, not just when reminded of one particular situation.

More general effects of the Klingon war might be a quirk "Dislikes Klingons" (No reaction or skill penalty, but you avoid Klingons whenever possible), or Intolerance (Klingons) for full-blown bigotry. But neither of these cause the character to get lost in memories.

I haven't seen the show, but if this is essentially a one-off effect, it doesn't really need to be statted out - it may just be a case of the GM deciding to have the party go to a location that was important in some of their backstories, and the relevant players opting to play the characters a bit differently from usual as they react to being back where some serious stuff went down in their past. Or it could even be an after-the-fact rationalization - maybe some of the characters kept having bad rolls, or the players were distracted and not on their "A" game, and the table decides that the characters' uncharacteristically-bad performance was due to them being distracted by their memories.

However, I assume Qoltar is going for a more general effect that can come up at any time.

.
It was NOT a 'bad episode' - how dare you!

Lets just say from now on don't put down Star Trek episodes in threads related to 'Star Trek' - okay?

That was not the point of my opening question.

Are you serious?

"Very bad episodes" has nothing to do with TV show episodes in that post.

Say, Qoltar, did you try the suggestion in Post #12?

I believe he meant that the character experienced a bad episode of PTSD related stress.

Christine in particular has panic attack symptoms throughout the episode, which aren't a specific GURPS disadvantage, although some combination of Post Combat Shakes and Mild Flashbacks probably work.

Joseph probably has Bloodlust with a high SC, which is kind of a very interesting character trait for someone who presumably swore to do no harm.

Note that this episode felt closer to actual combat PTSD than a lot of Hollywood and TV depictions (to the extent I was midly triggered), although it focused on a particular manifestation of it that is closer to the tropes than what I personally experience.

PTSD triggers make sense as a disadvantage embellishment quirk for Post-Combat Shakes and Flashbacks.

GURPS Horror introduced Panic Attacks on p. 27.

I'd call what Joseph is experiencing Flashbacks - that is what is occurring. Probably a quirk or maybe the -5 point advantage.

Which is a bit of a weird disadvantage because it flips the whole "happens when you fail" thing.

Somewhat, yes. But it also makes a lot of sense re: the real world. In my experience at least.
