Here's what it says on Exploits, page 30. I've added a little rewrite (in bold-face) to make it clearer.

ALL-OUT ATTACK

Ber-serk-er! Sacrifice all thought of defense to attack a foe using a ready weapon. If making a melee attack, specify one of four options when you choose your maneuver:

Determined: Make one attack at +4 to hit.
Double: Make two attacks against the same foe, if you have two ready weapons (Using Both Hands, p. 36) or one weapon that doesn’t have to be readied after use.
Feint: Make one Feint (above) and then one attack against the same foe. The Feint applies to this attack instead of one you make next turn.
Strong: Make a single attack at normal skill. If you hit, you get +2 to damage – or +1 damage per die, if better.

If you already get two or more attacks, Double and Feint add one extra attack or Feint, respectively, to your output. [All these melee attacks must be melee attacks.]
If making a ranged attack, you simply get +1 to hit.
How's that?

Is this a version issue? In your version of Exploits, what needs to be true before you can select one of the four options for All Out Attack (Determined, Double, Feint, Strong)? In my copy it says it needs to be a melee attack. Does yours not have the word "melee" in that sentence, in italics?

"If making a melee attack, specify one of four options when you choose your maneuver"...

The description for All-Out Attack in Exploits is basically a slightly edited version of what appears on page 365 in Basic.

Forgive my snark in the earlier post. I think WhiteLily may have just rolled an 18 on reading comprehension.

That would be far more clear.

My reading comprehension is fine. My interpretation of the rule remains unchanged after reading what you wrote.

I'm not sure what clever place they have hidden the rule that requires these to be melee attacks, but if that is the rule I certainly would have put it right there on P. 30 for clarity.

No. It's not.

You should open up your Exploits book to page 30 and re-read the section on All-Out Attack even more carefully than before.

Why did you ignore post #12?
