Default is Detect always Reflexive?

Hi,
is the simplified Detect advantage in Monster p.10 assumed to be Reflexive (i.e. it works as a Sense like human sight or hearing)?
Or does it take the usual 1 second Concentration as in the Gurps basic set?

Does this also holds true for the Dungeon Fantasy books?

This decision DOES matter a lot for the combact effectiveness of monsters...

The writeup for Ice Wyrms in DF Monsters suggests that yes, it's essentially similar to vision or hearing in being up all the time.

This is how we handled it in Bestiary too. A lot of Charles’ plant monsters have it. Some of my demon lords have utterly unfair versions
