The vaults are much nicer than I expected. I managed to get all 10 Hexagrams and all of the Quick Quests in one.

I don't see one listed, but it should be easy to scale the difficulty up or down.

One was not specified . . . which means to me that a starting party of ordinary size - say, 5 characters - should have a good chance at it, but the GM is intended to personalize these for the party. We rarely do the dnd thing of claiming that an adventure is designed specifically for X characters of Y levels. In reality, things are wibbly-wobbly. The GM should always be ready to drop an ally into play or add a few more monsters, so the players are challenged but not overwhelmed.

If anyone has any specific comments on 9 or 10, I'm looking at the lettercol for #11 now!

If nobody else has a letter then:
In Hexagram #10, page 20 there is a note that unarmed animals can take the Defend option. Is this a general exception to the weapon requirement for Defend at ITL 117 or only for animals who have a bite attack? (Did the author mean Disengage instead?) Also how agile are dragon / wyvern claws for carrying and manipulating items and how broad is their ability to learn talents and languages? And do they dig their caves or just find them?

Side note: for Wizard Xanos on page 19, change the "Defend" to Blur (self). |

While it might be unusual for an animal to Defend, I can easily imagine a smart animal choosing to do so - a wolf backed against a wall, for instance, if its pack is out there fighting.
Dragon claws can certainly pick things up. Especially if those things are made of gold, right? But I don't think they can, for instance, turn the pages of a book. (Answering here because I'm trying not to turn this lettercol into a Q&A.) |
