FTL is a real headache but it could be like light under Newtonian physics which didn't behave as that model of the universe said it should.
That was supposed to be "exotic matter" not "exotic magic" but the point is there are ways to allow FTL under our current understanding of physics — it just involves things that are possible but not confirmed or something we really don't understand.

I mean if Dark Energy is a form of Energy then where is it coming from as energy cannot be created or destroyed? How can the universe continue to expand if that continuing expansion takes energy?
