It could, sure. But the nature of Trademark is that it's a compulsion of sorts; you MUST leave it/execute it/whatever. A disgruntled ex-slave who has a Quirk-level habit of lopping an ear or a scrotum off of a slaver, that's a preference, one that can be safely ignored if particularly inconvenient.

And as Varyon says, what the fellow DOES with the trophies might serve as an OPH. Speaking of which ...

This is something of a Hollywood fueled fallacy. It's *possible*, but not all that likely. Consider the contrast between that and lopping a hand off, something routinely survivable with tight bandaging.

It's not that I don't understand what you're saying. It's that I disagree with what you're saying.

Creepy Crawly
Requires Body of Swarm
Your swarm moves like (or is) a group of verminous creatures or insects. As a result the act of being touched by your swarm creatures is deeply unpleasant to most people. You get -1 to reactions from anyone your swarm is in physical contact with unless they have Xenophilia, Broad Minded or Patience of Job. Anyone with Squeamish or Clean Freak may react to you at -2 instead and those with the appropriate Phobia will trigger a fright check at the usual extra -1 for touching the source of their fear in addition to any modifiers for the sheer numbers of your swarm.

I'm not sure it's worth a point in that case, since the difference is purely linguistic. An ancient Celt or Norseman who learns a language which distinguishes blue and grey would have no more difficulty than an English speaker learning Russian distinguishes two different colours—голубой and синий—which English calls blue. (Note that голубой is related to голубь pigeon, while синий descends from a word meaning both blue and grey. The same thing happened to blue in English; grey is related to green, since they both derive from the word grow.)

Makes pet out of machine, tool, or weapon. This would include giving it a name (perhaps of the opposite sex to the owner to have romantic connotations). Stroking it when the owner feels nervous. Etc

Has striking gastronomic enthusiasm. This does not have to be an unusual preference although that will add to the color. Black coffee will do. But the PC would have to ingest it frequently as well as having a wonkish knowledge of the lore of that product.

Plays an imaginary role. PC would be for instance an enthusiastic member of the SCA.

Power on display
Requires some sort of exotic or supernatural ability
You use your super powers or other exotic traits far more than is necessary. It's not that you're compelled to do so, rather you just really want to show off your power whenever the opportunity presents itself. For example someone with this quirk that has telekinesis will prefer to always use their power rather than their hands, even for totally mundane things. Someone with flight will prefer to hover rather than walk etc.

Depends on the degree it matters. I agree that in a campaign without heraldry, "cut the red wire, not the blue or the yellow one," or "I think the orange potion's the poison, and that pinkish stuff is the painkiller," it likely doesn't.

With all that, this isn't a all-in-the-past thing. I've read more than one article in the last year -- one I remember from the Economist -- where there are significant enough differences in how certain cultures describe colors as to raise the question whether different ethnic groups perceive color differently as a matter of linguistics or as a matter of biology.

Saw a YouTube video on how humans are adapted for throwing - a twelve-year old in good shape can throw a ball three times as fast as an adult chimpanzee.

So...

Bad Thrower

Your arms aren't designed for throwing. Halve effective ST with thrown objects, including weapons.
