Invented by an unscrupulous official or clever bandit, depending on who one asks, a Turner's Pike is a long pole on a swivel, painted red and white, which makes any road into a toll road. When one is laid across a road or path of any sort, any traveler on the road who sees it is compelled to pay a fee determined by the user or turn back. Clergy of any sort are exempt from the toll, and travelers who aren't on the road when they first see the Pike are unaffectesd.

The Henway is a magical path that one must be led down by a female chicken. The actual item associated with this appears to be a bag of feed for chickens. You select your hen and throw the feed int the direction you wish to go. Travel on the path is magically quick and users will normally reach their intended destination by the time the chicken is full.
Exactly what hapens if you attempt this with a rooster is not recorded but most sages agree that it is very bad. Also, the user will be cursed if they eat the chicken at the end of the trip. The chicken can be sold to someone else but the former owner should get out of sight befoe the chicken is slaughtered. Next: The Knot of Watt.
