Got my Double Ace and mats...

Anyone know off the top of their heads the mat dimensions?

I am concerned with storage... I would not be against buying some storage unit, if it will fit all of my Car Wars stuff (sans mats, but including the tiles) together.

I saw someone suggestion SBG (SandBoxGaming), but it looks like I would have to figure out what would work and what would not.

If anyone does, I would love to hear about it.

Or if someone creates 3D files to print such. I was hoping that my Mini #1 & #3 could be included in the game box, but there is no room.

Has anyone started painting theirs? I assume the standard wash to get release agent off, etc, but then... prime first, then paint? Which paints?

Many companies release a build/paint guide that not only talks about color schemes and such, but also what works best, primer & paints.

Took me a while to figure out my OGRE storage strategy, hoping it does not take as much effort for Car Wars.

I got a bit of a head start and posted what I did over on BGG.

Based on a lot of measurements I think I'll be able to fit all of the cards, counters and such in the game box with some SBG pieces to keep it all organized. I'm not sure precisely what I'll use yet, I ordered a big kit from them as I need to organize some other games as well. When I get it figured out I'll post something.

For painted minis I use pelican cases. I really cannot see ever moving all 22 but you can certainly find a case in any size you feel you need.

Please see the Painting minis thread.

I plan to put my updates there. Just one pic so far. I liked how well the prime/dip worked on one, that I did that to mini sets 1 and 3. I have not settled on what I will do with the core twelve. Most have an enamel single-color base coat at this point. I am going to see how far I get with metallic paint markers.
