Monster bonuses/races/hirelings

I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

Let's say I have a dwarf race card and a dwarf hirling card in play. I need to fight a monster but it has a +3 against dwarves. Do get a total of +3 against (because I'm/my hiimg is a dwarf) or +6 against (because I'm a dwarf and my hireling is a dwarf)?
