Elven Armor and Crushing Damage

The Adventurers book Armor section tells me not to reduce the armor's DR versus crushing damage. Where can I read the rules on how normal armor is affected by crushing damage?

Adventurers p109 , note [1] in the table :
Mail and scale have split DR score, use the lower DR against crushing attacks.

For Elven mail (p 110) : always use the higher score
