Default losing combat

Hi, new player here obviously.

When you lose combat do you still get to play the rest of your turn? For example, it's my first turn, I have nothing to lose. So nbd when I lose in combat. But I do have an "advance one level" card that I haven't played yet. Can I play it now?

If you lose a combat and have to Run Away, you can still play some cards after you resolve your Run Away attempt. A "go up a level" card would be a legal play, as would playing an Item from your hand or a Curse on another player. You can't try to fight a second monster, however -- one combat per turn.
