Even what we were shown was not really ready to be published. Focusing on one era would be a necessity. The idea I got from my own research of the time was that there were gaps of centuries in India's historical record that were virtually blank and that the only periods with much real world documentation were the Mogul era and the British Raj.

Yes, I believe I've heard that in other places where I posted the question. The whole BC history of India is not well documented. I don't know why that is. The few that have information are popular wargame periods, of course, but they are few and there's a lot between them.
