Yes, having just unboxed the megahexes from the Decks of Destiny box I've been both amazed and impressed by the variety and utility they offer. The fact that I know for sure one side is blank makes creating layouts much simpler.

And for these boards to be really useful for me they have to be compatible with the tiles.

Is there any chance we could see a mockup of what's intended?
