Oh, that's fine too, but what I actually intended was that you might want to consider your own contest in the future for your students to write ideas for a Dungeon Fantasy adventure. It could be judged on creativity as well as writing skills.

I've mulled that possibility before. I mostly teach social studies, but I work closely with the English department too. I could see competitions like this being quite popular. I especially like the tight word count. (Not because I mind reading longer submissions, but because brevity is a tough-but-essential skill for young writers.) We may include something like that in the summer workshop. I've been meaning to get in touch with SJG to see if they have any interest in supporting this. |
