Shrug makes perfect sense when “shrugging” off a damage mischief. But what about a non-damage mischief your opponent is playing, e.g. healing salvo? Can shrug stop these types of mischiefs too?

Per the rules:

Quote:

Ignore
A game mechanic. When something is ignored, it is treated as though it does not exist.

So for the card Shrug, the ability states:

Quote:

Ignore target Mischief as it is being played. That card is stashed and its owner returns the gold paid for it to their purse.

So yes, Shrug would also stop non-damaging Mischief cards.

Thanks, Aleph. I think Matt was overthinking the name of the card. Instead of "I shrug off the damage from the mischief you play," it should be "I shrug because I don't care that you think you can use Spellception right now."

Maybe it should have been called "Ennui" instead?
