Just got to thinking about what you said long ago, Andrew.
What is the logic of being unable to eliminate a curse and kicking open the door? Does the card indicate that can't be eliminated by Annihilation or is that a fan discussion which ended up with that result? |

Annihilation says it cancels cards played by opponents. The game isn't your opponent. That's really all there is to it. This is an OLD card, written by Steve, and I'm not going to second-guess his wording.

Getting back to the original question in this thread, since “Annihilation says it cancels cards played by opponents”, then the only monster you could play it on (and escape the Bad Stuff) is a Wandering Monster, correct? Any other monster would be played by the game or yourself.

You can REMOVE any card in play. You can only CANCEL cards played by opponents, and only as those cards are being played. It’s a somewhat meaningless distinction in a lot of cases, but not all of them.
