Hmmm... you're right and while the mysterious Consortium informed Raul that they were sending twelve shooters and they would require "AK or AR type rifles and 9mm handguns", Raul, while he hoped for a solution involving bribery, would have been aware that the most likely armed confrontation in Galveston would be an assassination. He had to plan for a full-scale assault on a vehicle in motion, hence the .50 BMG, but it wasn't what he was hoping for.

AR-15 Rifles

Edit: To be precise about the AR-15 type rifles, Carillo (the straw purchaser), could not find a dozen identical rifles in stock. He bought the two LWRCI IC-SPR rifles with ATN X-SIGHT-4K PRO SMRT HD D/N 3-14X optics as ordered, but could not find ten more of that rifle model or Colt LE6920 rifles. So he bought the four Colt LE6920 SOCOM rifles that he found in stock at the first store with Trijicon MRO Patrol reflex sights, four Bushmaster XM15 QRC rifles with Bushnell Mini Red Dot sights, and finished up with two DPMS Panther Oracle rifles with Vortex Razor Red Dot sights in another store.

Raul wanted fifty extra 30-rd Magpul PMAG magazines, but neither place has that many in stock. He gets 30 PMAGs and 20 Lancer L5AWM AR 30-rd magazines. As for ammunition in 5.56x45mm, Raul requested all the Hornady Critical Defense FTX 55 grain rounds available, which was a thousand rounds, which required the straw purchaser to improvise for the rest, yielding a 1000 round box of Federal XM M193 FMJ 55 grains. For the precision LWRCI IC-SPR rifles, Raul requested a case of 200 Barnes Bullets Precision Match OTM 69 grain rounds. The two LWRCI IC-SPR rifles get Bushnell Uncle Mikes - Discreet Firearms Large Case M16/AR-15 to carry them in, but the other ten rifles just come in shipping cases.

Game terms, these are civilian versions of the M4 rifle, functionally mostly identical to the Colt CAR-15A3 R6920 Government on HT p. 119, with a +1 skill for Reflex or red dot sights. They are using Fine-quality magazines, which means a one step increase in Reliability.

The two LWRCI IC-SPR are Fine (Accurate and Reliable) and have a +1 to +3 Acc scope with Night Vision somewhere between 3-5. Loaded with commercial Match ammo like the Barnes OTM, they have +1 Acc for a total of Acc 6 +(1-3). The Damage, whether by RAW GURPS or Douglas Cole style, comes up 5d pi, out to about 200 yards, pi- after that.

The Hornady Critical Defense ammo is Barrier-Blind JHP, 2d+9(0.5) pi+ in vanilla GURPS, but I plan to work up Douglas Cole style stats, which will probably yield slightly increased penetration and at least equally good wounding at short ranges. Edit: I'm calling it 2d+7 pi+ by Douglas Cole stats, out to 200 yards, pi- after 500 yards.

Precision Rifle in .308 Winchester

So, yeah, a nice precision rifle in 7.62x51mm and a decent day/night scope are absolutely things he might have bought. Rolled Tactics (Guerilla) and he succeeded, so yeah, they can have the nicest rifle/scope combination he found online at a Dallas gun store on the morning of December 28, 2018, so he could write down exactly what to buy for his straw purchaser.

Edit: Which shall be a LWRCI R.E.P.R. MkII in .308 Winchester with free-floating, cold hammer-forged, heavy-profile, spiral, fluted 20" barrel, Ultra muzzle brake, Geissele SSA-E two-stage trigger, Magpul PRS stock, Magpul MOE+ grip and an ATN Thor 384 HD thermal scope with 2-8x magnification. Comes with a 10-rd PMAG and can use the 20-rd PMAGs of which Raul asks his straw purchaser to buy six extra. Buys a case of Barnes Bullets Precision Match OTM .308 Winchester 175 grains, 200 rounds. Carries it out in a Blackhawk Long Gun Sniper Drag Bag.

In GURPS terms, it's a Fine (Accurate and Reliable) AR-10 type rifle, loaded with Match ball ammo, with a thermal scope that also gives +1 to +3 Acc. Acc 7+(1-3) and Dmg 7d pi by RAW, 7d pi+ by Douglas Cole style stats, out to around 200 yards.

Anti-Materiel Rifle

The aformentioned Barrett M82A1 CQ .50 BMG rifle mounts a Vortex Razor HD GEN II 3-18X50 FFP scope and an OSTI AN/PVS-22 UNS clip-on NVD optic. It's loaded with Hornady Match A-MAX rounds, Raul requesting a 100-rd case and a total of ten Barrett M82A1 10-rd magazines.

In game terms, it's an overpowered, unfair, PC-killing beast. Realistically, it's debatable whether shortening a rifle barrel down from ridiculous to typical rifle lengths should reduce Acc, but even if we do so, the Hornady Match A-Max rounds are famously accurate in this rifle and the performance of rifle and round together absolutely justifies rounding up to Acc 7, especially if we give normal Fine rifles with commercial Match ammunition that Acc.

So, Acc 7+(1-4), with Night Vision of 8-9 (the older and far inferior Insight AN/PVS-14 clip-on night sight is given Night Vision 7 in Tactical Shooting p. 63). The Damage is 11d+1 pi+ in RAW GURPS, Douglas Cole style stats will increase Dmg slightly for heavier bullets than the 647 grain ball and increase wounding at ranges close enough for yawing. Edit: We'll call it Dmg 11d+2 pi++ by the Cole method, out to around 300 yards, pi+ after that.

Handguns

Not that the handguns will have the least impact on the kind of action that Raul might have to initiate, but Carillo was instructed to buy a few extra, of several popular kinds, in case some of the sicarios were unfamiliar with or disliked a particular model. Six Smith & Wesson M&P9C M2.0 pistols, four Sig Sauer P320 X-Carry pistols, four Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield pistols, four CZ 75 SP-01 Phantom pistols and two CZ 75 SP-01 pistols. Each pistol was purchased with two spare magazines. Six cases of Federal Premium Personal Defense HST 124 grain 9x19mm ammunition, a total of twelve hundred rounds, should prove ample.

Carillo was told to ask for holsters that will fit the guns and brings back eight Blackhawk Concealed Ambidextrous Shoulder holsters, four Uncle Mikes Sidekick Hip Holster with Mag Pouch, four Uncle Mikes IWB Tuckable holsters, two Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit holsters and two Hogue PowerSpeed Universal Holsters.
