Car Wars in Other Eras

Looking back on old group notes & emails , a couple of different genera jumped out :

Drive By Wars - Set in 1990's , groups of 'gangstas' shoot up each others posses/vehicles/residences from back of Convertibles . Uses updated Crossbows & Chassis Rules - sides of vehicles all count as base 1pt of Metal Armour , but many 'modern' upgrades are available . HD Shocks ( for bouncing up & down) , bigger engines with upgrades , Flack Jackets , Assault Rifles , Pintle Mounted & Tripod HMGs , Riot Shields , Tear Gas & Stun Grenades , Tasers and the mandatory Sound System (or Systems) etc . Huge fun could be had & premise was hilarious as T-Rex & his brother Augustus came up with it - two guys from a more British upper class military family background you could not find !

Car Wars 40K - various Warhammer 40K Vehicles converted to Car Wars Rules , with additional bits added from the net . Laser Cannons from NOVA pages , Autocannons used as Heavy Bolters , hand RR as Bolters and new stuff invented as needed - 180mm low velocity Cannon for Battle Cannon for example . T-Rex , Lightbulb , Mr Chimpy , SwordBoy and his Sons all had great fun with this over a couple of Summers . Orks used advanced C&C rules with rules for turning Jeeps into 10,000lb monstrosities , painted Red to go faster & greater chance of blowing up every time the Nitro was triggered or a Heavy Plasma Cannon was fired ...
To say 'extremely amusing' at times is an understatement ... ;-)
