Default No brain, no pain

Which of the following suffer from pain or shock penalties in combat?

Non-controlled Zombies?
Verbally commanded Zombies?
Creator commanded Zombies?
Slimes?
Elementals?
Controlled persons?
Berserkers?
Person controlled berserkers?

Well RAW:

zombies don't say they don't, so they do

slimes don't say they don't either, but it only would matter for Silver slimes

elementals don't say they don't, so they do

berserkers DO say they don't, so they don't

control spells just affect what the person chooses to do, not whether they're messed up by attacks or not

On zombies, I imagine they don't feel pain, but I don't think that necessarily means they aren't interfered with by taking a lot of damage. I would tend to keep the -2 penalty and knockdown results, so it's still possible to fight them and and get some result, even if it's hard to get strong ones to stop moving.

One of my pet peeves about fantasy games in general is that they rarely give the walking dead the sort of resistance to injury that is implied in everyone's favorite fictional inspirations. An exception is original Runequest, which required that you explicitly disable limbs to stop them working, and decapitate to stop it seeing and pursuing you. A RAW zombie in that game is pretty scary.

I agree. The problem is that TFT seems to consider zombies/skeletons nothing more than an animated object rather than true undead. I'm working on more interesting versions along with some additional necromantic options for my Ptolus campaign.
