Curse vs Steed Effect

FWIW, my take is this:

You were forced to run away.
The raptor's effect triggers by the decision (in this case being forced) to run away.
The raptor gets discarded, and you succeed automatically without actually making an attempt to run away (roll of the die).
As you didn't make an attempt (die roll) the curse's effect doesn't trigger and is lingering around for the next time you need to attempt to run away.

That's my take. Andrew might have a different one though.
