I agree with Skarg and Warhorse11 -- if you think of the ST Aid spell as providing extra energy for the casting of a spell, then that wouldn't necessarily translate into greater muscular strength at all; that's not the kind of ST being provided.

This is another example of where going over to "mana" for spell casting would actually make more sense -- then you could understand specifically what was being aided by the spell, ST or Mana. (Not that I'm advocating that change, mind you; I'm just saying it would be much clearer to deal with in this case.)
