Answer 28 [MC]- Gargoyle Project
What kind of training, bio- and/or cyber enhancement do elite soldiers put through (or created by) TIO's Gargoyle Project receive? What does a Gargoyle look like and what can they do? Does the project have any.... issues?

The gargoyle project has two aims primarily to enhance and maintain elite operatives for TIO. The second aim is to investigate the practical problems and issues faced by enhanced individuals so that future TIO enhancement products can be better suited to lucrative contracts.

In general gargoyle operatives are selected from those with impoverished backgrounds and they receive a high quality lifestyle and a wide range of unobtrusive enhancements. Implanted cyberware is either high end versions of common civilian devices or is disguised as such. Bionanic enhancements to improve sensory abilities are universal provided due to their largely undetectable nature. Organowoven replacement parts are used upgrade endurance and improve mobility especially climbing. Neurochemical synthesizers provide canine like loyalty, highly enhanced reflexes and what are deemed as the "positive" traits exhibited by combat junkies.

Internal improvements decrease the damage effects on gargoyle operatives. All these improvements and enhancements are individually not uncommon among security operatives. What sets the gargoyle operatives apart is two things. One, they have highly trained staff managing the integration of all the individual components and two, the armour that led to the project's name.

Gargoyle armour
Implanted armour is an not a new product, armour that is produced from internal reservoirs is. Given thirty seconds a gargoyle operative can generate a layer of protective material comparable in dimensions to a wetsuit (provided they have the latest model). Roughly equivalent to a personal suit of obvious light armour, quick adhesion points allow the addition of ballistic plates and a facemask of available. The camouflage system is rudimentary by 2099 standards it can produce only dull stone like textures, IR concealment is better but far from perfect. This armour combines the benefits of worn and implanted armour, the only issue is the current cost.

While gargoyle operative suffer less burnout than many of their contemporaries due to their unique blend of neurological chemicals they are however prone to try and "stay in the game" after retirement. Unfortunately for these retirees their very high performance implants require a considerable amount of upkeep.

Question 42 [CTY]
What city or location in this setting deserves a bit more focus? Mentioned so far are Copacobana, Mu-sigma and the New Caribbean Archipelago, there is no need to be limited to these however.

I had to get out from under a heavy deadline which is why I had to hit pause on my contributions. I've got notes on a bunch of questions though, so I'll try to get them out in reader-friendly format bit-by-trit.

I already had something else outlined, so I'm going to skip Mu-Sigma for the time being. Also, other cities mentioned include the La Paz Perla Andina arcology and Santa Domingo.

Answer 42a) - Mu-Sigma

Answer 42b) - Isla de Monte Carlo
Situated in the New Caribbean Archipelago, Isla de Monte Carlo is a TIO-operated medi-tech oriented sovereign-corporate city, built on floating carbon-fixed concrete landmass leased from Morgan Oceanic on a 99-year term, and dedicated as a memorial to the annihilated city of its namesake.

It is shaped like a pie wedge with a bite taken out of the tip - this is the bay. Between the bay and the escarpment is a mostly faithful replica of Monaco, taking up about a fifth of the island's overall 10 sq km area, as it appeared at the height of its 1950's glory. Then jutting up from the top of the escarpment, and extending to most of the rest of the island, stands a forest of gleaming ice-blue skyscrapers comprising one of the world's highest concentrations of medical facilities. Finally, along the outward arc of the pie-wedge is the city's transport and civil infrastructure - airport facilities, docks and cruise terminals, warehouses, food production, water and waste treatment, light industrial zones and power production.

The city was designed as a planned-integrated concept from the start. Medical clients would arrive from around the world, undergo their treatments of choice or necessity, then spend their recuperation time and excess credit on the pebble beaches, at the baccarat tables or around the grand prix circuit.

The original concept generally still applies, although now there a large portion of visitors who are only interested in enjoying the glamour, elegance and decadence of the original city's golden era, with body-engineered doubles of Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra strolling the streets, re-enactments of Prince Rainier's and Princess Grace's royal wedding, or street circuit racing - both from historic eras and modern Formula Z. Alternately, the visitors are on a more limited corporate budget and are whisked straight from the clinic back to their waiting ion jets almost as soon as their surgeons have downed scalpels.

The medical facilities run the gamut - biotech, cybernetics, trauma surgery, searing edge research, pharma-tech, medical-nano, palliative, reproductive, rejuvenative and regenerative. One third or so are TIO-branded operations or subsidiaries, another third are independent private facilities or represent other megacorps, and the remainder are funded by various foreign governments, universities and militaries who want their personnel to be at the beating epicentre of medical science. There is also the bonus that they can carry out a fair deal of extremely experimental, and not necessarily ethical, research without greatly restrictive oversight.

Question 47 [STG]
What happened to the original Monaco for it to be referred to in the past tense?

Question 48 [CTY]
Who is the Executive Governing Officer of Isla de Monte Carlo?

Question 49 [CTY]
What is the premiere private cybernetics clinic on Isla de Monte Carlo?

Frank.
Also known as Francois Kama.
Some forty years old Francois is of mixed French and Senegalese decent. He looks far younger than forty, in fact you would thing he was barely out of his teens. This is the result of many years of treatments to keep his biological age down. Francois is a mathematical prodigy whose mind earned him both placement in a prestigious university and the attentions of TIO's talent scouts. Plied with wealth and privilege he was on the fast track up the corporate ladder and the very model of a rising star in the world of business.

Then three years ago he was caught in a bomb blast that took his left hand and pierced his brain. Little expense was spared putting him back together, but his continued anti-aging treatments had left him unable to accept biological replacement technology. He now has a gleaming cybernetic hand, extensive headware and some scars that he decided to keep.

Brilliant but now possibly unbalanced, Francois is the most efficent EGO that TIO employs by a significant margin. So far Francois' eccentricities have been limited to spending a few million on a restored 1976 Lancia Stratos sports car and racing around Isla de Monte Carlo. There are rumours that Mr Kama is beginning to seek the more visceral experiences in life that he was denied with his privileged upbringing.

Question 50 [CTY]

What is Isla de Monte Carlo's nearest neighbor?

In a footnote to the Indo-Pakistani war, the original city of Monaco was destroyed by what is currently thought to be a smuggled dirty nuclear weapon, no one is sure who is responsible, but by the time it was deemed safe to resettle the rising Mediterranean made the cost prohibitive, it was instead turned into a memorial of sorts and has since become a coral reef.
