Regarding "And, Of Course, It Was Black," the Gaming Notes for that story mentioned there would never be HDDS Ammo. The statement is not entirely accurate.

I remember seeing HDDS Ammo in an issue of Dragon Magazine as a Car Wars variant. The Tanks article in Dragon Issue 117 might have rules for HDDS Ammo.

I think that was the joke -- that "HDDS" had been mentioned in a not-official article; and given the arguments of "power creep" which were going on at the time, could we please *NOT* have it become official? (Shortly thereafter, we got _CW Tanks_, complete with Nuclear Weapons....) :)
