Torch fighting

Take as an example the Pirate on page 45 who's fighting off the naughty tentacles.

Human hero ST 11 DX 11 IQ 11 MA 10
Shortsword(2d-1+1; -1 DX to be attacked), Torch(1d-2), Kilt
Sword(2), Two Weapons(2), Weapon Expertise-Sword(3), etc.

So if he strikes with the sword and parries with the torch then the torch subtracts two points from each tentacle hit. Correct?
