Man, the early '80s were a golden age for cheesy fantasy films. |

My strongest memories of Conan the Destroyer were the boulders made of spray-painted foam rubber being chucked by set techs (who were behind a screen, but backlit and therefore pretty visible), and Conan's "barbarian pants" being a pair of khaki work pants with a small animal pelt to cover the most un-barbarian zipper.
That, and a very annoying princess in need of being dropped off at the local dragons lair instead of being rescued. I could hear the GM giggling behind the GMs screen about that.

Pretty much. I think I saw all of them once and far too many of them more than once. Of course, I was born in 1967 and getting into gaming in 1979, so the timing was perfect.

When I think about "dungeon crawling" movies, the first one that comes to mind is The Goonies. It's not "dungeon fantasy" in the sense that's being used here, but . . .

Low Powered Dungeon Fantasy meets "Kids on Bikes" is a great way to describe Goonies.
