I think that's a more thorough detail of what I meant by B). Let's see, maybe it would be clearer written as:

A) Caster takes fatigue, target takes damage.

B) Both caster and target take fatigue.

C) Both caster and target take damage.

There are other possible ways it could work (e.g. based on who dies), but A) B) and C) seem most likely to me.
