Probably should have thrown in a ? after that comment, I assumed that to be so...you know what what they say about assuming:-) I have no experience at publishing/producing products, so thanks for the information. But I still can buy more stuff at $60 :-)

I had to plan ahead the whole month to afford the $60 announced price. It's going to be tight, but doable.

I'll have to talk my wife into it, to be honest. Both retired and money is just lately starting to be a bit more "disposable". ;)

One of the important aspects of TFT was the low price point. Back in the days of Metagaming, "Pocket" games were a genre unto themselves. It's important to remember, as adults, those days when kids collected bottles for the deposit, delivered news papers, and mowed neighbor's yards to buy comic books and pocket games.
Even those of us who were young adults liked the pocket games because they were small, simple, and easy to play. I could toss G.E.V. into my briefcase and get in a quick game during lunch. I think preserving that philosophy is worth resurrecting and maintaining. One of the things that I'm looking forward to is *not* having every little aspect of adventure or combat defined by paragraphs upon paragraphs of rules and unnecessary fluff...which costs money and stifles imagination. So, for me, the low price point and basic simplicity is part of the whole TFT "look and feel." To Steve Jackson, I say, "Well done, sir. In this era of $150+ entry into RPGs, the re-issue of TFT is a welcome breath of fresh air." |

As someone who has never played TFT and will only buy it because of brand loyalty and good reviews, I think $60 is a good price. If it was $200, I may as well just buy an old copy on ebay.

$60 for the boxed set is a great price point to me. I would also be more than happy to buy Melee and Wizard in a shop for twenty bucks each. Much more than that and it gets harder to justify as an impulse buy or quick play game. Certainy one of the things keeping me out of 5e D&D is the expense of multiple full colour hardcovers.
I did plump for ODE, but that brought a LOT of stuff and I have been playing Ogre steadily for decades. TFT I haven't played since high school. |

$60 does seem like a very reasonable price for a Kickstarter, especially as this one will consist of two board games and a full RPG. However, I have to factor in postage and customs charges to the UK, so I’d be surprised if I have any change from £100 sterling.

1) I think you are going to be even more pleased than you have been with his many other great designs, and; 2) In a way, I envy you the experience you are about to have -- I can only compare it to starting to read Lord of the Rings, and realizing a couple of chapters into Fellowship of the Ring, just how much you're going to enjoy the entire trilogy... Welcome to TFT and boy, is it an amazing ride! ;-) |

A couple of important points. As of the moment (things may shift slightly as we finalize some details), the rewards are:
$25 - The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition PDF. This is the Melee and Wizard games, as well as the In the Labyrinth book, Tollenkar's Lair adventure, as well as appropriate maps and counters in PDF. $30 - Melee and Wizard box games + the $25 PDF reward. $60 - The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition + the $25 PDF reward. The Melee and Wizard games (exactly as they'll appear in stores) are packed inside the Legacy Edition box. $110 - I Want to All! - This is the Legacy Edition box + the $25 PDF reward . . . and plus large neoprene Melee and Wizard playmats, each illustrated by an artist (not exact copies of the Melee and Wizard maps, but the same hex configuration and illustrated to represent specific locations). The playmats use hexes larger than the maps included in the Melee and Wizard games for those players who want to stage some larger-scale fights. Also, there are some higher rewards for those who want to play Melee with Steve at conventions starting late this year (these convention rewards also include the I Want it All pledge). Only the convention session events are limited; all of the earlier rewards will remain open throughout the project (unless something odd happens).

Sounds great! Just one question: will the hexes on the playmat be large enough to accommodate standard fantasy miniatures (25-28mm, D&D etc)
