Re: TFT Euro-Tabletop RPG?
I would imagine there's a pretty large slice of the market that would very much want more solos, especially if they can be made a bit more wide-scoped than bashing a 11-15 room dungeon.
I remember back in the "Golden Age" of wargaming, (the mid- to late-70's) SPI (the real powerhouse of simulation/"adventure" game companies back then -- before TSR became a monster) did a study on people's gaming habits and discovered that something like 80+% of the gaming community did at least half of their gaming solo. Why? Because they couldn't find someone to play with, they couldn't make the gaming session, they lacked the time to organize and run a play session, they actually preferred to game solo, etc. Admittedly that was wargaming, not RPG-ing, but I DO know that the programmed adventures from Metagaming back in the day sold like hot-cakes; probably for a lot of the same reasons.
So, while I totally respect terquem's feelings on this subject, I will say he definitely doesn't speak for me!
