Hi,
We had the situasjon where the Gnome was fighting together with a other plyer. The other plyer died trying running away. The Gnome was alone now and wanted to create a illusjon. Three against one we decided he could not do that. Is that right?

You never have a case where one player runs away and the other keeps fighting. Once the player whose turn it is decides to run away, both of the players run.
