But, I'm embarrrased to say: what book is abbreviated SAT?

I have no idea where these species come from . . .

Space Atlas 4
The fourth of a series of books that spilled fron the writing of the very first version of GURPS Space.

The designing team was unsure if they where creating a universe (like the 3ed GURPS Fantasy) or a universe building (like the 4ed GURPS Fantasy) book, so they got all these planets and published them in a modular universe. GURPS Space became the award winner book of sci-fi universe building and the space atlas series had some 50 planets per book with adventure seeds for them and among other things, new alien races.

Anyone better informed (including perhaps the designing team) can correct me, but I thing that the basic is this.

Actually, the first 3 Space Atlas books were 64 pages, each holding only about 25-30 planets. Space Atlas 4, as near as I can tell, was originally going to be two seperate 64 page books but was combined into a single 128 page book to economize.

Bonus points to the person who can name the race that first appeared in the Space Atlas series and was later included in Aliens. Double bonus points to the person who can name which Races riding beast appeared in Space Bestiary and the name of the riding beast.
