Adventures are impossible, or GURPS players are the types who build everything ourselves...other types of products would be pointless to me, so why produce them?

Quoted for truth. I'm a relatively new advocate for GURPS. I started purchasing books about four years ago, began running games, and even started a blog (although that experiment has been paused for a while due to other life issues). But, if this thread is representative of the GURPS community, then I feel like I'm wasting my time trying to bring more people into this game because the community isn't so closed-minded. I'd like to think that's not true, but it's hard to think otherwise when idea after idea are shot down on the basis of "that's not what I'd like" or "that won't solve all our problems" or even "if you're having a problem then you're doing it wrong."
Here's a suggestion. If you're going to say why a solution doesn't work for you, be constructive. Explain what you did to overcome that challenge instead, and help build the resources this community can offer.
