Now on the topic minor handling improvements... at GURPS level of granularity most of them will just be an ingame justification for the weapons bound perk.

Most "tactical" modifications are just as useful as most "performance enhancers" are for cars.

Eh, depends on the gun and the mod. A limbsaver on a shotgun is incredibly useful. Although it's debatable whether such a thing is "tactical"

My understanding is that it covers minor features that firearms might have and differences between specific real-world models, not so much add-ons you purchase for weapons. Although this obviously overlaps to some degree.

I'd really enjoy a treatment from Hans on the subject of guidelines for which guns should get a Holdout bonus or penalty from what their Bulk would indicate, guns that are especially uncomfortable to carry or tiring to use in sustained fire, etc. Or guidelines on rounds that are very accurate within point blank range, but difficult to use at longer range because of extreme trajectory.

Basically, the benefit of Hans's encyclopedic knowledge of weapons when developing a list of a lot of +/- 1 bonuses or penalties for specific situations that distinguish between real world weapons that GURPS currently does not make all that different at the level of granularity present.

Something makes Weapon Bond for a specific weapon a choice that is superior in situations where that weapon is appropriate, but not necessarily the only game-mechanically effective choice, by rewarding operators who choose specific weapons for specific situations.

Couple of points -- the real life width of a firearm is important for concealment. Revolvers are at a disadvantage thereof. Double-column magazines ditto. The length of the grip (yes, I know, "stock") is also an important element in concealment. The old Remington 51 (the c. 1919 version designed by John Pedersen) was pretty good. It was less than an inch wide. Remington has re-imagined this weapon in a 9mm version. I'll want to see the original and the update side by side, however, to see if they've managed to match the original's conceal-ability.
