Questions about "Deus Ex Machinegun" and "Wight Brothers" cards

Hey, guys!

We need a help here:

So, we are having a fight with "Wight Brothers", and we are winning.
Then, a rival is throwing a "Deus Ex Machinegun" and fight is over.

As you know, if Munchkin cannot defeat them, he is losing 2 levels.

But here we have a doubt:
How do we classify a fight with the use of "Deus Ex..."? Does that counts, as if Munchkins have defeated the monsters, or they have to lose 2 levels, because it were not them do defeat "...Brothers"?

And also, if possible, we would like to see the English text of those cards, because we are playing the Russian version and we want to see, whether translation is correct.
