Put a Force Dome around it, with an NMZ as a shell around that. Some switch somewhere in the dungeon triggers a mechanical release to deactivate the crystal powering the Force Dome, and all is good.

What if the door was self repairing rather than in a no mana zone?

Alternately the door might be a perfect illusion/magical construction that doesn't actually exist so it's quite hard to damage.

Living metal? or living stone? or just organic?

I think Ill go with the time stasis, but a regenerating obstacle is good enough to put somewhere else for sure.

Living metal was one way to do it. Another way might be an enchantment of a sophisticated sort.
