What healthy people can adapt to comfort-wise is not the same as what's optimal or survivable.
Most young adults, when not moving and naked, use the least amount of energy in around 82 F. Different temperatures cause stress that one's body reacts to.
The fact that I'm fine in 90 is more mental than physical as my sweat obviously means my body doesn't "think" it's so hunky dory.
