Kill the Hireling v.s. Kill a Hireling

Hello, peoples!

In the original munchkin set, there was the card Kill the Hireling. But once Hirelings became a thing and not a specific card, there were cards that could kill a Hireling. So, can the card Kill the Hireling be used on any Hireling?
