Adventure Hook: A Head Scratcher

A former street punk's life has recently been turning around. They got a job doing degbugging for a big sensie firm. They're making a decent living, working long hours. Things are okay. They're finally talking to a certain cute someone at their favorite chem bar. But something doesn't seem right. Little, subtle things. People answer the phone too quickly, taxis arrive a little too fast, taxes are easy to do. The Feds aren't firewalling their internet every few months.

Then one night it hits them.

That fateful night they left the alley behind the Bot Fighting Dens. The night they walked the familiar path through the alleys and over the bridges to their little apartment. They never made it home.

They never walked to their apartment and woke up a changed person, because that night, someone snuck up on them and jacked them into a sensie, transporting them into this pseudo-ideal reality where everything keeps them reasonably safe and happy enough to do cheap debugging without the required union pay of a sensie code professional.

Just thinking about it makes the back of their head itch.
