Burning Attack 1/2D (Partial Dice, 0.25; No Incendiary; Melee Attack, C, No Parry -35%, Linked +10%; Power, Vibration -10%; Contact Agent, Exception +150%; Follow-Up) [2] + Corrosion Attack 2D (Accessibility, Inorganic Only -20%; Linked +10%; Symptom, Fragile +75%) [18]
The attack lacks any form of cyclic. So it does 1 point of damage, and then follows it up with 2d of corrosive damage.

Against something like a bridge (DR 55, HP 250)
It will do... 0 damage, and then the 2d corrosive damage will also do 0 damage and will likely reduce the DR of the bridge by 1. The fragile symptom will not apply as no damage penetrated DR.

Then all damage will stop. You can use the power again next turn, after 55 turns you will have reduced the bridge's DR to 0, and will start doing ~12 points of damage per turn to the bridge proper, but if you stop actively using the power every turn, all damage will stop too.

Thank you. How would you write it up for the desired effect?

Add Cyclic to the Corrosive, and use an Armor Divisor to increase the rate of DR ablation.

How about:
Knock (shatter): 10d corrosive (Power, Vibration -10%; Acc: Only rigid structures -20%; Jet 0%; 7/lvl) [70 points]. You do an average of 35 points of damage in a line (1/2 dmg 5 yards; max 10 yards) to things that are rigid instead of flexible, ripping them apart (DR dropping 7 points per turn).

<or>

Knock (shatter): 10d cr (Power, Vibration -10%; Acc: Only Inorganics -20%; Malediction +100%; Variable +5%; 8.75/lvl) [88 points]. You make a Will roll - 1 per yard to the target, vs the target (object's) HT (usually 12). If you win, you do 10d of injury (bypassing DR). Plan on having Will + Talent of 18+ to soak some distance penalties. This attack uses a concentrate maneuver rather than a normal attack.

Either power can be used repeatedly on the same target to grind away at it.

I modified the first one to have Melee rather than Jet and made it Cyclic (10 sec). The total % modifiers would equal out to 0. He at least has to actually touch the object to affect it. It would still work as intended, correct?

Sure, though each level of cyclic is one additional time of damage. If you buy 10 second cyclical once you have the original attack plus one additional attack 10 seconds later, after that nothing else.

I suspect that you'll either need more levels or to repeat the attack until you destroy your target.

Throw in Armor Divisor (10). You'll ablate 2 DR for each point of damage rolled, meaning an average of 70 DR ablated per Cycle on a 10d attack. Remember that objects are considered destroyed when Corrosive attacks reduce their DR to 0, so, this guy could destroy buildings very quickly.

Where did you see either ruling? AD doesn't normally improve the secondary effect and there are plenty of objects that don't have DR.

I could just be thinking of armor for the "destroyed" part. As for AD modifying Corrosive's ablation rate, Kromm verified that when a question came up about Disassembler Swarms having an Armor Divisor of (10), despite having a base damage that would otherwise be unable to ever ablate DR.
