So I'm really trying to figure out a solo version of Munchkin. I know it's possible and I also know the resulting game will probably be quite different from the original however I think loners should get in on the munchkiny fun too!
Stealing an idea from a previous post I've written up some tables which fill in a lot of gaps but they are by far not perfect yet. One of the main hurdles is creating "fellow munchkins" to play with. So a "Ask for Assistance" table is born. Roll a d6: 1-2 No help is coming 2-4 Help is coming, so roll again 5-6 Your plea succeeded, see partner level table for the level of your partner Partner Level Table 1 Your partner level is 7 2 Your partner level is 2 3 Your partner level is 3 4 Your partner level is 4 5 Your partner level is 5 6 Your partner level is 6 Now before play take all the monster modifiers out of the deck and create a new mini-deck. By doing this you can create more combat randomness. 1 A player adds a monster modifier (draw one modifier from the mini-deck) 2, 3 & 5 No improvement 4 Your combat strength is decreased by a d6 roll 6 Your combat strength is increased by a d6 roll So what do you think, anything I'm forgetting. Of course some card actions would have to be ignored, like an Elfs helping power etc. but anything to add? Do you think this would work effectively?
