[Ruling] Bow of grossly unbalanced combat

Hi!

I was playing with some friends and family and we got into an argument about this bow.

The Bow of Grossly unbalanced Combat is Ranger-only, gives +3 bonus and then states: "A Ranger using this bow will automatically run away."

If used by a non-ranger with a cheatcard, the bow will be usable and thus give +3, that's not needed to argue.
BUT will the player run away automatically or not?

Since the card specifically states that a player should be a Ranger to automatically run away, I don't think the effect should work for non-Rangers.

The other argument is that the whole card is cheated, and thus the effect should work regardless of what class is using it.

Who would you say is right?
