Unicorn Steed Question

My friends and I got into a rather heated debate in our most recent game over this one. Does the Unicorn Steed make the player immune to curses that were played on him before he played the card, or only ones played from that point forward? In other words does putting the card into play free the player from curses he was already under?

All previous Curses would remain in effect. Unless a card says it removes a Curse, a card that would make you "immune" to Curses from one source, or another, or all, for that matter, would only make you immune to new Curses from the listed sources.
