Default Adventure Time Exp. Pack Monster "Party God" Question

This is party of the Adventure Time "It's a Dungeon Crawl". The text reads:

[Please do not quote card text.]

I'm assuming they mean any One-Shots in your hand?

I find this confusing because on the Munchkin website FAQ says:::

Q. So what exactly do you mean by cards in play? Do cards in my hand count?
A. Cards that are in your hand are cards and nothing else. You may eventually play them from your hand, but they are not IN play. Your cards on the table are cards in play and these represent what they say they are. For example, a Race card is a card and a Race.

Please help.

Thanks!

No, the card says "one-shots in play" and that means one-shots already on the table, waiting to be used.

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry if I sound like a nube... but...
Why would you ever put a one shot in play that you don't want to use?

The few times that I have played so far, concealing their identity until I need them has been ideal.

Some ideas:

You might play it out to reduce your hand size to avoid Charity.
You might play a Wishing Orb to deter Curses.
You might play out some cards as a show of strength to induce players to pick on someone else.
You might be interested in offering a trade, and you can't trade cards from your hand.
Or you might put a couple out so if you DO get hit with a "Lose an Item" effect, you can discard the one-shot rather than losing an equipped permanent Item that you really want to keep.

Woah. Thank you so much. Super enlightening... makes me def want to play more. We were playing One-Shots more like Instants from Magic The Gathering (only from the hand)
