I am new to Munchkin and have yet to play my first game. I have a question related to table/hand discards. At the start of the game the cards are divided into 2 piles - Door and Treasure (and I'm assuming that any card can be a Door or Treasure card and that they are not divided by type of card). Each person is dealt 4 cards from each pile, which then become Hand and In Play/Carried. The cards are then discarded during game play according to the situation. My question is, once the cards are dealt to the player (and subsequently drawn during turns and such), how is it determined which pile (Door or Treasure) the player's cards are discarded to? Is it up to the Player to remember which cards he/she has were drawn as Door or Treasure? Does the player just pick whichever pile he/she wishes to discard to? Is it up to House Rules (or Game Owners)? I look forward to the answer and I'm looking forward to my first game.
Thank you, Chris |

The Door and Treasure cards have different art on the back of the cards.

Thanks Mister Ed! I never noticed that but it's obvious once you see it. I was more interested in the front art and never looked at the back.

And, different color schemes, as well, front and back. Unless you got hold of a very, very old set of Munchkin. . .
