Is monsters treat Gnome Hireling as a Halfling?

The rules for Hirelings say that the Hirelings only have the abilities and rules written on them, plus those given by the rules. Since the Rules don't say that Gnomes are always treated as Halflings, and the Gnome Hireling doesn't say it is treated like a Halfling by Monsters, I can't find a reason to say that the Gnome Hireling would trigger bonuses for Halflings.
