Myself, on the rare occasions when I get to play Car Wars, I bravely charge ahead and use Car Wars Deluxe edition and the Car Wars compendium. I figure, hey they might be screwed up and all, but their fun, we've used them forever and a day, and everyone goes home happy.
What else could you ask for in a game? Just remember to keep Gold Cross up to date and you can never go wrong.
