Default Orc Class and existing curses

Hi all,

Quick question. I am a Halfling and I get a persistent curse. Can I change my race to an Orc later on and then lose a level to remove that curse?

In my gaming group I felt you couldn't since the text said when you are "hit" with the curse and not one you already had on you.

Which is correct?

Thank you

You're correct about that word choice.

It's been a while since I've seen this question come up. It used to come up a lot back in the day, so we seem to have covered it in the FAQ:

A. No. If an Orc does not use his power at the moment he is hit with the Curse, it takes full effect, and he can't use his Orc ability to remove it later.

Thank you for the quick response. I was reading the FAQs last night and fell asleep haha. They are pretty long so my apologies for missing it in the list.
