Query, because I understand this to be a GM judgement call -
Are racial templates bought out of advantage points, resulting in minotaur barbarians being "beefier" than human barbarians but having basically no personal advantages The alternative, which makes sense from an order of operations sense but can make math interesting, is starting with the racial template (Ogre, say) and making sure your Ogre conforms to the Barbarian template (which results in buying ST down and producing a rather cheap Ogre). On paper this math is annoying enough to make templates kinda pointless, but in GCA it's just a matter of taking the Ogre template before you take the Barbarian one. Option B makes an Ogre Wizard that can actually be a useful Wizard a matter of a few button clicks, once you remove the Magic Resistance (taking up much of his personal disads). Which is certainly an unusual option, and once you shake it around and let the details settle down, it makes for an interesting wizard :) But probably not a 250 point one.
