Cards in your hand are just "Cards". They are not considered "Items" until they are in play. So, no, you cannot curse a card in your hand unless the curse card specifies it may target a card in your hand.

That is, in fact, directly stated in the rules.

The Rules specifically say you can play one-shots from your hand.
There is no point in resurrecting an 8-year-old topic to debate a curse rule we are discussing in a more-recent topic. |

I agree with the responses.
That said, I'm playing Munchkin Digital and an AI opened a door to reveal the "curse: lose a small item", I saw 0 in his Pack (in play) and yet he discarded a card (which appeared to be from his hand). Perhaps the computer had already reduced his "pack" count to 0 when I saw that number. All I can say is that it looked like the card came from his hand. |
