Question: Does a sidekick/android classify as an item in that case? The Time Warp would revert my +12, but would I lose this sidekick as well? I thought that I would be able to bring him back because I did not consider him to be an item.

Time warp doesn't do that. It stops a trap or one shot item, Android is neither of these. Nor is it an item, items are cards with gold piece values (or the phrase "no value").

I can't think of any situations where something is classified as an item only in certain situations. The time warp play didn't do anything and the Android would've counted as +12 instead of +2.
